Why there is no syringe

There is no syringe. Topical minoxidil is measured with the dropper supplied in the carton — the label’s unit is “one mL with dropper”, twice a day — or, for the foam, as “half a capful”, which is a volume defined by the can’s own cap and by nothing else. Half a capful is deliberately not converted into millilitres anywhere on this page: no label states that equivalence and inventing one would put a number on a measure the manufacturer chose not to quantify. The instruction that does the real work is the one people ignore: “using more or more often will not improve results.”

The men’s products are narrower than most people assume. The Use statement is “to regrow hair on the top of the scalp (vertex only, see pictures on side of carton)”, and the Do not use list includes “your amount of hair loss is different than that shown on the side of this carton or your hair loss is on the front of the scalp. 5% minoxidil topical solution is not intended for frontal baldness or receding hairline.” It also says not to use it if you are a woman, if your hair loss is sudden or patchy, if you do not know the reason for it, or if you are under 18.

Ask a doctor first if you have heart disease
That is the label’s own wording, verbatim: “Ask a doctor before use if you have heart disease.” Minoxidil is a potent vasodilator whose oral form is a last-line antihypertensive, and the topical Drug Facts reflect that lineage.

Apply 1 mL twice a day to a dry scalp, then wash your hands

Stop and see a doctor for the cardiovascular signals
The Stop use and ask a doctor list is short and specific: “chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, or dizziness occurs”, “sudden, unexplained weight gain occurs”, “your hands or feet swell”, “scalp irritation or redness occurs”, “unwanted facial hair growth occurs”.
